Stalwart Defenders is a Standard Earth Arcana in Wizard of Legend

Description[edit | edit source]

Summon 4 chess knights in front of you, dealing 15 damage, they then leap forwards, dealing 50 damage to any enemy they land on. The knights block all enemy projectiles and draw the attention of enemies.

If enhanced, the knights jump in place after they land, dealing 25 damage around them.

Strategies[edit | edit source]

Stalwart Defenders is an excellent defensive arcana due to its versatility It can be used as a temporary wall to prevent yourself from getting swarmed or to stop enemies from retreating from you. The knights block all incoming projectiles keeping you safe from long ranged attacks and they also distract enemies allowing you to follow-up with other arcana. As if that isn't enough they also deal high damage over a large area making them great at crowd control.

The knights do not block your projectiles, allowing you to attack enemies while you remain safely behind them.

Spell combos[edit | edit source]

  • One of the only downsides of Stalwart Defenders is that you cannot walk through the knights. Chaotic Rift allows you to mitigate this as you can teleport through the knights, making it the ideal dash to use alongside Stalwart defenders.
  • Jump arcana that move you forwards (e.g. Seismic Entry, Thunder Drop, Binary Splashdown) work well as a follow-up to Stalwart Defenders since they move you over the knight and deal damage to any enemies in front of them.

  • Fewer knights are summoned in smaller areas. As little as two knights may appear in tight corridors.
